CLEAN OUR OCEANS
With an estimated 150 million metric tons of plastic already in our oceans, we need to take action now.

8 million tons

Is roughly how much plastic ends up in the ocean every year.

Plastic decomposes, right? Wrong.

Plastic doesn’t decompose over time. When it is released into the ocean, it can only break down into smaller particles known as microplastics. These microplastics get everywhere and are extremely difficult to clean up because they are so small.

What are other people doing?

Global movements are being led by organizations like Plastic Oceans, The Ocean Cleanup , and The Ocean Conservancy. These groups aim to develop new technology to clean up a majority of ocean pollution. They rely on the participation of volunteers like you!
